While I'm not a huge fan of pimping products in posts, I thought I could share some of the things we (and Max) love that are available for purchase and where we shop for him. These are things that worked for Max, though they may not work or be liked by every dog. Check stuff out and see what works for you. Also, please support your local businesses if possible. Cheers!
Brookside Barkery and Bath- This is our (semi) neighborhood all-natural pet food store. These folks know their stuff and are a great resource as well as offering self-service bathing, tooth brushing, nail trims and full-service grooming. They don't sell online but if you're ever in the Kansas City area you should check them out.
Better Dog Care- Max's diet was custom built for him by Sabine at Better Dog Care and we couldn't be happier about the experience.
Zymox Otic Pet Ear Treatment with Hydrocortisone- This enzyme based treatment works on fungus, bacteria and viruses and has no chance of antibiotic resistance. We use this weekly for maintenance and any time an ear infection starts to rear up.
Thundershirt- What to say about the Thundershirt except we ABSOLUTELY love it! Max gets panicked when a thunderstorm crops up and in the mid-west we can have them any time. The Thundershirt uses gentle pressure to help calm dogs (and cats!) in all sorts of situations. They are money-back guaranteed but we wouldn't trade ours for anything.
PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter- Our go-to flavoring for Max's treat recipes when we don't need the oil of regular peanut butter. It's so good!
Bob's Red Mill Garbanzo Bean Flour- Bob's Red Mill has several great flours for all your treat-making needs. I love that I can buy their Garbanzo bean flour locally to make grain-free treats.
Bully Sticks- Max loves these chews and would eat them exclusively if we'd let him. Just make sure you get the genuine ones since there are impostors out there filled with chemicals and yucky other stuff.
Whole Health Pet Center - "WHPC is an integrative small-animal veterinary hospital offering most traditional and many complementary therapies." We get Max's chiropractic and veterinary care from Dr. Leonard and he loves going there.
Dog Food Project- A wealth of information that helped us help Max get back to healthy. This site is updated regularly along with great articles on choosing the perfect food for your dog.
Eye Care for Animals- Max's ophthalmologist is Dr. Kaese but everyone in the practice seems great and they take really good care of him.
